Meghan Markle’s May 19 wedding to Prince Harry will no doubt go down in history. And with one month to go until the nuptials of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank, it’s looking like we’ll have another royal wedding to remember.
Eugenie, daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, has invited more people than the splendid St George’s Chapel in Windsor can actually hold, it was revealed.
The princess will have more than 850 people attending her wedding, despite the church having only 800 seats, leading someone to hope not all of the guests will be able to make it, the Mail on Sunday claimed.
A source told the Sunday newspaper: “The wedding itself is going to be huge and they are hoping quite a few of the people they’ve invited won’t be able to come because of the capacity issue.”
Not content with just one day of wedded bliss, the duo is reportedly planning a two-day wedding extravaganza, with the help of celebrity party planner, Peregrine Armstrong – Jones.
Armstrong-Jones, who famously planned the opulent July 1999 wedding of David and Victoria Beckham, has allegedly been busy organising a star-studded celebration for Saturday October 13, the day after the royal pair say ‘I do’.
The morning service is expected to be attended by the Queen, Prince Philip, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
The ceremony will be followed by a post-wedding lunch hosted by Queen Elizabeth II and an evening black-tie reception, held at Royal Lodge in Windsor, the home of Eugenie’s parents.
While the Queen might have filled her quota for partying on the Friday, those keen to continue the celebrations will be invited to return to Royal Lodge on Saturday October 13.
The next-day event , planned by Armstrong-Jones, is being billed as a “festival and funfair” themed party, reports a closer source of Royal Family.
The Royal Lodge could also become the setting for a private concert, taking things up a celebrity notch from Meghan and Eugenie’s weddings, according to a source.
Many of the guests who made it to Meghan’s Royal Wedding will also attend Eugenie’s.
Among them, there are celebrities like George and Amal Clooney and David and Victoria Beckham.
But most important guests will be the many senior royals set to attend, including Prince Philip, despite his years-long feud with the mother-of-the-bride.
Despite the Duke of Edinburgh being unable to stand up for very long because he underwent a hip operation earlier this year, a royal insider said he doesn’t want to miss Eugenie’s big day.
The youngest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson will marry her 32-year-old fiancé at St George’s Chapel in Windsor on Friday October 12.
Be ready to witness the big day 🙂
